Update from Mesquite

Jeff emailed this report in…

Steve Bailey speaking at the Mesquite SYS.

“Last night’s Summer Youth Series at Mesquite was a great success. We had 200 teens from all over the Dallas/Ft. Worth area who attended. The singing was simply

awesome. Steve Bailey delivered a great message on the topic of Stand For Those Who Can’t. Afterward we enjoyed a dinner of chicken strips, mashed potatoes, corn, salad, and dessert. We anxiously look forward to hosting again next year. See you all next week for the finale in Waxahachie.”

The event at Highland was also really good.  The young men who helped lead the singing, prayers and announcements did a very good job.  Brother Doyle delivered a good message as always.

One event left!

It is almost impossible to believe that we are already at the end of the summer and the end of our Summer Youth Series.  The last event will be Tuesday, August 10 at the College Street Church of Christ in Waxahachie.  Everyone is encouraged to be on hand so we can blow the doors off the building.  This will be the last SYS held at this facility, as College Street will be moving into their new building in the coming months.

June is Already Gone

Can you believe that it is already July?  The Lewisville Church of Christ did a great job of wrapping up our June SYS events on Tuesday.  There were 438 in attendance.  Reed Swindle delivered a solid message on standing on the Rock.  His effort to clearly define what it means to “stand” was especially appreciated.  A completed outline from his lesson will posted in the next day or two.

Next week our SYS events return to a split schedule.  The East side will meet at the White Rock Church of Christ and the West side will meet at the West Mansfield Church of Christ.

Some of you might be interested to know that this website had its busiest day on June 29th.  We had 111 unique visitors on that day.  That is a lot of visitors for a site that has only one purpose.  The high traffic on the site this year shows the excitement surrounding SYS this year.

346 at Colleyville

SYS on the West side had a surge on Tuesday.  We shot up by over 80 people from the previous week.  No report of how many were at Lake Dallas, but we are sure they had a good crowd too.  If you couldn’t make the SYS event at Colleyvill here is a link to the outline from the lesson -  Colleyville Outline.

SYS Going Strong!

The Grandview Church of Christ did an excellent job of hosting SYS on the West side.  There were over 250 in attendance at our farthest south event of the year.  Beckley Heights hosted SYS on the East side and no doubt did an excellent job.  Did you know that Beckley Heights ordered 62 SYS t-shirts this year?

Next week our SYS events will be at the Colleyville Church of Christ on the West side and Lake Dallas on the East side.  All SYS event start at 7pm with singing and then the lesson starts around 7:30.  We look forward to seeing good crowds at both events.

SYS 2010 Off To A Great Start

SYS @ Handley

SYS @ Handley on June 8, 2010.

Summer Youth Series kicked off at the Handley Church of Christ in Fort Worth on June 8, 2010.  There were around 460 people on hand for the event.  Paul O’Rear of the College Street church in Waxahachie did a great job of getting things started   Doug Martin, and the Handley church gave a great example of how to host one of our SYS events!

The June 15 events will begin our split schedule.  The East side churches will be enjoying time at the Beckley Heights Church of Christ in Dallas.  The West side ch

urches will head down south to Grandview.  Both events promise to be lots of fun and spiritually rewarding.

We still have 1 t-shirt left (youth medium, adult large, adult XL).  If you would like one of the shirts use the email on the right side of the page to contact Jon.
