Final SYS Tonight!

The final Summer Youth Series event will be at the Brown Street Church of Christ in Waxahachie tonight.  Brown Street is the new facility for the College Street church of Christ.  Make sure to follow the information on their website to make sure your group arrives on time and at the right location.  Sam Dilbeck from the West Hill church of Christ will be the speaker for the evening.

Last week, the Northwest church of Christ had a great event with almost 500 in attendance.  We have not heard a report from the White Rock church.  Thank you to everyone who came out last week.  Bring a friend with you tonight and let’s blow the doors off of the new Brown Street building.

8/2 – Northwest and White Rock

Last week provided us with a pair of great events.  The Mesquite Church of Christ had 250 in attendance.  Rod Nealeigh did a good job on covering the topic of singing.  His primary texts were Exodus 15 and Ephesians 5.  He challenged those in attendance to consider how they can really edify those around them if they keep their noses buried in the song book.

The Handley Church of Christ had around 275 on attendance, although Doug Martin noted that he would have guessed the number to be closer to 350…there were a lot of people at Handley.  Paul O’Rear led singing and Doug presented a good message.

For August 2, SYS events will be at White Rock on the East side with Cleve Stafford speaking and Northwest on the West side with Paul O’Rear speaking.  This is the next to last week of SYS…make sure not to miss out!

Mesquite and Handley host on 7/26

SYS will return to a split schedule on 7/26.  The Mesquite Church of Christ will host the event on the East side.  The church has asked one of their returning missionaries, Rod Nealeigh, to be the speaker for the evening.  Jeff Powers, the youth minister at Mesquite, has said that he is very excited for the group to hear what Rod has to say.

On the West side, SYS attendees will hear a lesson from Doug Martin at the Handley Church of Christ.  Doug is an excellent speaker and diligent student of God’s Word.  He continues to make an impact on the lives of so many.

Brown Trail reported having 475 at their combined event on 7/19.  There are only 3 events left for Summer Youth Series.

Great events!

ColleyvilleWe’ve had great reports from both Balch Springs and Colleyville.  The Balch Springs church of Christ had almost 200 people on hand and Colleyville had 394 in attendance!  Our attendance is on the rise as everyone returns from camp and wraps up VBS and other events.

Charles Brazell at Balch Springs said their building was filled to capacity and that the teens on hand were clearly engaged in a study of God’s Word that was lead by Spencer Gunnels.  At Colleyville, Randy Mathis delivered an excellent lesson as well and the singing was amazing in the full auditorium.

Next week we have a combined event at the Brown Trail church of Christ in Bedford, TX.  Russ Floyd will be delivering the lesson.  Russ is a parent of some of the teens, a deacon and highly active in the activities of the youth at Brown Trail.

Going strong!

Bedford Road SYS

Over 270 in attendance at Beford Road!

Summer Youth Series continues to have great attendance in week 2.  Bedford Road hosted the West side event and had over 270 in attendance.  Cold Springs in Lancaster hosted the East side event and had approximately 250 in attendance.  Several of our larger groups were away at camp this week, so these numbers are very impressive!  Keep up the good work everyone.  Spread the word and bring a friend to SYS next week.  Our hosts for 6/21 will be Highland on the West side and Lake Dallas on the East side.

SYS starts out great!

SYS at Keller

Simon speaking at the SYS event at Keller on June 7.

The Keller Church of Christ got SYS 2011 off to a great start!  There were over 520 people in attendance on June 7.

SYS continues this week as we split into East side and West side events.  On the East side, the Cold Spring Church of Christ in Lancaster will be hosting the event.  I spoke to a representative from the church this morning and she told me they were excited to have a great group coming.  They are pumped and ready.

On the West side, the Bedford Road Church of Christ will be hosting the event.  You can expect a full house on hand to hear Paul Delgado deliver the message for the evening.  If you show up late, you might have to park in the lots of nearby businesses since a large crowd is expected.

SYS starts tonight!!!

The first DFW Summer Youth Series is tonight (Tuesday, June 7) at the Keller Church of Christ. The event starts at 7pm. The speaker will be Simon Summers, the intern at Keller this summer. He is a Junior at Freed Hardeman University and is from Benoni, South Africa. Kevin Langford will be leading the singing. They will have grilled hot dogs, chips, cookies and cokes for dinner.

There will be a second chance to order SYS shirts at the Keller SYS event. Please pass word to your groups that shirts will be $10, more for XXL and XXXL. This will be the only night to order a shirt in this second batch. They will be available at the SYS event on June 28 @ Lewisville.
